CYBER BULLYING
On Sunday, 31 January 2016, a group of students from Year 10 and 11 hosted an assembly based on Cyber Bullying for KS4. The assembly began with a short video on YouTube that discussed or showcased the way in which Cyber Bullying takes place. The video very accurately explained this using screen-names as emotions such as 'hate' , 'anger' , and
'disgust' . After which showed how to overcome the mocking with words such as 'courage' and 'happiness'. A wonderful start to the assembly.
This was followed by the explanation of a slideshow presentation based on various aspects of Cyber Bullying inclusive of types, stages, background information, as well as statistics. The students did appear to learn new things, and although our outreach for questions were limited, we believe they understood a deeper meaning of the concept and were all able to relate to it. We wrapped up the assembly by having all the students present recite an Anti- Cyber Bullying oath to honor the privacy and respect the emotions of other.
Overall, we believe that the assembly was done well, however if given the opportunity, we would involve more or the audience in order to adhere to the students more. The assembly was hosted by Shayna, Aakanksha, Rachel, Sanidi, Gimani, Abhinav, Vasu, Kendall and Alyda.
