The outcome of the Winchester's school true care about its students success; an event that provided helpful information, guidelines and resources so that parents can support their children's school experience at an apropriate level - the keystage 4&5 orientation evening. On the 17th of September 2014, Mrs. Anand, Dr. Ritika, Ms. Chriselda, Ms. Aliya, Ms.Vasu and Ms. Anna spoke to the audience about how important it is to set high expectations, encourage children to aim high and show them the route map to be successful in achieving good progress and attainment as welll as lay out clearly how as teachers and parents, they could all support.
In addition, throughout this evening, it was thouroughly explained how to access home learning, the three different types of assesments: summative, formative and board examinations (for year 11 and above) and what they differ in. Moreover, the role, significance and previous achievements of "Parent Representatives" was also clarified.
All in all, the evening flowed smoothly, leaving the parents much more aware of how to help their children and what different roles there are to fill.
